| SHORT NEWS BRAINS IN ROME The European Brain Research Institute is opening for public on March 24, 2005. EBRI was founded by the Italian Centre for Research, the Santa Lucia Foundation and Rita Levi Montalcini, the famous Nobel prize winner for medicine. It will be the first European research centre entirely dedicated to the study of the brain. It will be an important meeting point of different disciplines, not only of scientifical nature and, hopefully, of some of the best researchers from all over the world. (em) SPETT. DOTT. Talking about Italy the International Herald Tribune now aims at the beloved title of dottore. After the transformation of the Italian university system being a doctor has become even simpler: after three years of university you are considered a dottore. The IHT highlights that this is linked to the Italians obsession of putting a title before their names. But now in the mess of new and old titles nobody knows who is who and what skills they have. As the director of Alma Laurea said, this is the big paradox: If everyone is a doctor it is like saying that nobody is a doctor. This brings us back to the starting point. YOU WANNA HAVE SEX? Harvard pays for it! Just go on www.h-bomb.org and you will discover what students are always interested in: sex! Two Harvard students, Katharina Cieplak and Camilla Hardy, presented the project to the Committee On College Life, who gave them 2000 US Dollars to start it off. The success came immediately. The magazine now presents a good mix of everything about sex, from how to use a condom, sex-psychology, fiction, poetry, to some nude photos of the authors and other students. We are an official magazine of Harvard, says the director. Do not call us porn. We take care of the styling, we are not vulgar, and anyway a good social life is as important as a good curriculum.
