WORK|OUT  about us auf Deutsch in italiano en français

Who we are
W|O European Student’s Review is distributed twice in a semester all around European universities. The review is published by the Cultural Association Letswork e.V. with the objective of promoting cultural and intellectual debate and student’s mobility across Europe. The Association, based in Berlin, is composed of members from Germany, Italy and France. The review is written and read by students in Berlin, Rome, Paris, Bologna, Milan, Venice, Genoa, Naples and Barcelona.
What we’re doing
W|O’s activities include journalistic reportage and editorials, formation of a network for young journalists and professionals in the field of media and cooperation with academic and public institutions, e.g. universities and international cultural institutions.
W|O, founded in October of 1999 in Berlin, reunites young and promising aspiring journalists from all over Europe, allowing them to see their work published and read on a continental scale. The review is written in all of the languages of the EU at the same time and is built into a network of different personal experiences and complementary local skills.

Our initiatives
W|O has always distinguished itself for its originality and capacity of finding a new perspective to look at things. We have organised meetings and conferences all around Europe on the the topic of European student mobility, information and free press, literary contests, expositions, documentaries... etc.

European students’ guide
In every issue of the review on the page vademecum we feature news, useful links and contacts, masters, scholarships, stages, art contests, events, opportunities and tips on how to travel and lodge across Europe — a guide for European students and young artists.

A multilingual review
W|O is a unique project of multilingualism, an editorial choice intending to illustrate the variety of European languages and to achieve a better integration and comprehension between cultures. Our “mission” is to work side by side with universities and language schools.

In December 2004 W|O has been awarded at “Palinsesto Italia”, national award for innovative contents and solutions for multimedia and multiplatform publishing, for “its structure of editorial unit organized as a network and for being a valid example of European distribution of a product with informative and critical contents promoting European identity”.

W|O everywhere
It is possible to receive W|O per mail-order at your home, at your university or at cultural institutions, wherever there is thirst of a serious, fresh, and original source of information relevant for students. We offer different personalized solutions — individual subscription or dispatch for institutions — to satisfy particular needs and requests.

Commercial opportunities
W|O offers to sponsors the opportunity of expanding their horizons reaching a young and aware target. Thanks to its capillar diffusion W|O reaches a very large number of readers. The strength of its distribution system is the cooperation with universities and students and the ad-hoc delivery of the review.

How to participate
W|O is a European project in continuous expansion. It is produced by students cooperating all across Europe. Their work consists in writing journalistic pieces, participating in virtual editorial reunions (on the forum or over Skype), distributing the copies (logistics of transportation and distribution in universities), taking care of public relations (creating partnerships, finding sponsors, collaborating with universities and newpapers) and organizing events.
You can participate to the W|O project:
· As an individual, writing as correspondent from the city where you study. You just have to send us per mail your CV and an informal motivation letter.
· As a group/association of at least 3 (ex-)students to form an autonomous and integrated local section. To do this you should send an email to the Editor Tino Brömme in which you introduce your group, the activies it promotes and what relations it has with the university. The first step to collaborate is merely intellectual: sending your contribution, article or a local page (a special page e.g. dedicated to your city) to W|O. That will show if it “works”, if you function as a journalistic group and if there is a feeling with the other local groups. Subsequently we will try to integrate you, coherently with your needs and possibilities, in the editorial and distributional network. W|O central bases (the publishing house in Berlin and the main editorial unit in Rome) will provide you all the materials necessary to start up a local group, to begin a minimal distribution of the paper, to integrate you into the website and to enable you to work on advertising and fund raising.
